As has been the case for many years on BBI, after the draft there will be a flurry of UDFA news that comes in, usually from small towns/newspapers, etc. Now with Twitter that will also add a new element of guys confirming their signing.
This thread is intended for actual news, with sourcing on who the Giants have signed. Not who we want them to sign, etc. If history is a guide, by the end of the night or early morning, we should know the list of all the UDFAs who the Giants will sign heading into rookie camp.
So once the 7th round is over, start your Googlin' and Twitter watching and post it here.
Tweedy has size (62″, 197) and speed (a 4.39 40 time) and can also be counted on to dial up a safety blitz. Against FSU last November Tweedy had six tackles, 1 1/2 that went for a loss.

Giants have 77 players on their roster and seven draft picks. That leaves room for 6 UDFAs. Total roster limit is 90 players.

The first one is updated. The last two above are not. If anyone finds any updated/good websites with decent intel, please post it.
I've got 77 as well on my cap list. Add 6 picks, and the total is 84. Don't forget that the Giants may still go out and sign 1 or 2 veteran free agents. A LB like Karlos Dansby would make sense.
6'4 335 lbs. "The Dancing Bear" Would be another big body for camp and he could land on the Practice Squad for sure.

Ohio State linebacker and NY native Etienne Sabino as UDFA with #NYG
What are those needs? Let's list them:
OLB
MLB
CB
WR
OT
TE
RB
We're going to be signing less than the usual amount of rookie undrafted free agents this year simply because of the amount of players already on the roster (77), including the 7 drafted free agents (84). The roster limit is 90, so we can expect 6 at most now.
If the Giants were to officially sign 6 rookie undrafted free agents tonight, then they'd have to cut someone from the roster if they were to go out and sign any veteran free agents later on this offseason.
ANALYSIS
STRENGTHS Well-built, athletic linebacker who plays on the strong side and in the middle. Fights through blocks in the hole, and is capable of using violent hands to shed and grab running backs. Brings a powerful punch to pulling guards and fullbacks in the run game, and is tough to keep out of the backfield on A-gap blitzes. Shows enough speed to flow with stretch plays outside to make the stop, and hustles to the ball when theres any chance to make a play.
WEAKNESSES Lateral movement might be an issue if playing outside; he might not stay on the field in nickel situations unless he proves the short-area quickness to do so at the next level. Plays with a high pad level, failing to break down in the hole against quicker ballcarriers. Must get his hands up consistently when attacking blocks, whether on the edge or against running backs on blitzes. Underwhelming career.
NFL COMPARISON Nail Diggs
BOTTOM LINE Sabino is versatile prospect capable of rushing the passer, handling tight ends, and holding the point as a strong side backer and also works hard to plug holes when lined up inside. Sabino still has upside, but will need to prove he can play on special teams.

"NFL spokesman Greg Aiello just tweeted that the NFL will increase offseason rosters from 80 to 90 players, effective at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
The move was discussed at the owners meetings last month but was tabled for later consideration. According to Aiello, the NFL Executive Council approved the measure today.
The increase is not as large as it may seem at first. With the 80-player limit, unsigned draft picks and some other players would not count against the limit. Under the new limit, the draft picks and others would count."

90-player limit will include active, inactive, practice squad, exempt, reserve lists, unsigned draft choices, franchise FAs.

No. I am not saying he's the next LT. But watch the film. He explodes people. Sopeed and ferocity like you don't see in a linebacker every day.

2011 in particular had 5 UDFA's make the team and 4 saw time on the active roster:

Quick write-up:
STRENGTHS: Athletic Frame and flies all over the field with excellent range and the chase skills to catch ballcarriers from behind. Athletic blitzer and is at his best downhill, working hard to shed blocks with adequate strength and length.

Diamond in the Rough: Charles James, DB, Charleston Southern University - ( New Window )
Those who have not been exposed to James, are missing out on a special player. From a technique standpoint he is one of the most polished cornerbacks in this draft. For what he lacks in size, he has the confidence and the numbers to prove he's amongst the talk of second their corners in this draft. James' ability to read the three-step drop has earned him countless INTs and PBUs throughout his career. In addition, he has punt return ability to add to his impressive resume. Although the former Buccaneer gambling spree has payed off for him throughout his career, he needs to be cautious of receivers who possess quickness with their double moves. James reminds us of David Barrett, minus the long gear, when he was selected in the fourth round out of Arkansas in 2000. We believe James has that kind of worth in this year's draft.

90-player limit will include active, inactive, practice squad, exempt, reserve lists, unsigned draft choices, franchise FAs.
But now in response to a fan question -
@gregaiello 31m
No. RT @shlynch: @gregaiello Do unsigned draft picks count against a team's 90 man roster limit?
So either they've changed the rule within the past year or just Aiello is confused.
I'd wager that technically drafted players don't count on the 90-man roster until they're signed. Correct, or no?

Marcus Davis confirms via text to us that he has indeed signed a FA deal with the Giants. Congrats!
That would make sense, considering the fact that he's listed as unsigned on that list, and that the Giants have a need at WR (competition for that 6th WR position on the depth chart).
